Invitation for Rice - Sapling plantation in Jharkhand

Greetings all,

This monsoon Antral/अंतराल invites teenagers, youth and teachers to come participate and learn the process of rice sapling plantation from the Adivasi community in Jharkhand. We heartily invite you all to experience the joy of farming with ‘us’.  Come and join us in this meditative process of nurture, care and creation and let us honour the community and rural women for the food they grow every year.

Gensis of  this idea!! 

The inception of this idea came when one of our team members was 

trying to motivate the Adivasi community about the  importance of

farming and rice cultivation. While having conversations with 

different farmers and families, one of the wise women from the 

community said, “If you really feel that farming and cultivation is 

very important and should not be neglected , then  educated people 

like you should come and join us during the cultivation process”. 

From then, we took this as a great idea to welcome all other people 

to come and experience the pain and joy of the process of rice 

sapling plantation, which would also let others feel about how much 

labor, is required to grow a single grain of rice that we eat every day.
