Hi all

A time has passed from the redis relicencing event, and a lot of things had happened in between.
I was occupied in other projects and I want to clarify what's the actual situation in redis and jedis, and if anyone knows, I want to ask some questions

  • Now redis is not open-source. You can use in your projects and applications but not offer a service directly based on redis (like amazon aws or google cloud). Is that correct ?
  • Jedis proyect continues to be MIT-licenced, but is now under the control of the Redis company, is that correct ?
  • There are some alternatives, born with licence change, like valkey (fork of redis) and valkey-java (fork of jedis). Has anyone use any of these ?

Thanks for your time

Happy holidays and new year
