As the Western and Eastern Conference standings heat up ahead of the NBA Playoffs next month, so are the candidates for several individual awards. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Domantas Sabonis are two of a handful of players mentioned in MVP discussions on sports talk shows, and Anthony Davis is arguably the frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year award. As part of our latest Player Ratings, we gave each of the aforementioned players a boost to their overall rating.

Given the opportunity, any general manager would jump at the opportunity to build their franchise around Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, or Chet Holmgren. Booker, a seasoned scorer in the league, has grown into a franchise superstar with MVP potential. Haliburton is only 23 years old and looks like he could be a top-three point guard in the league very soon. And Holmgren is already living up to his lottery-pick talent less than 20 games into his career. All three have played an integral role in their teams' hot starts to the year and are fascinating to watch.

In the midst of his ninth season, Devin Booker has evolved from a sharpshooting guard to an all-around playmaker who can make an impact in every facet of the game. Since returning from injury, Booker has stepped up as a scorer and a facilitator, averaging a robust 28.9 points and 8.9 assists per game in the last 14 days. Under new Phoenix Suns head coach Frank Vogel, the team is determined to run the offense through the 27-year-old superstar, with Booker seeing a career-high 33.9% usage rate. As long as the ball is in his hands, the Suns are going to be tough to stop on offense.

Nothing comes quite as close to replicating the competitive thrill of the golf course as experiencing multiplayer modes on our PGA games. No matter if your console of choice is an Xbox Series SX, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Playstation4, or PC, PGA TOUR 2K23 is packed with unbeatable multiplayer options that allow you to pit your skills against fellow gamers across the globe.

To coincide with the launch of the game, our comprehensive guide will walk you through the fantastic online multiplayer options available and advise on how you can get the most out of this excellent new addition to the PGA TOUR 2K series.

As with previous releases, PGA TOUR 2K23 benefits from a string of gameplay-enhancing, multiplayer features. These features add an extra competitive spark, allowing you to challenge friends or fellow golf and gaming enthusiasts worldwide.

When playing with your friends, you can either battle it out against each other in a head-to-head match or work together to dominate in competitions. With the option of creating your very own virtual fourball, this element of the game is sure to amplify your competitive edge.

Our customizable course conditions allow you to play in the ambient confines of a sunshine-drenched course or battle the elements on a rain-soaked green. To amplify the realism, each condition will change the gameplay to match the challenges of a real-life course.

The Pro difficulty level allows us to bring together the best of both worlds, providing gameplay that remains challenging to experienced players without alienating newcomers. This ensures as many people as possible can enjoy the competitive thrill of our online mode.

When playing a private match, you have the option to fully customize the level of difficulty available. Our open difficulty settings allow you to select different levels for different players. This means that a more advanced player can set a higher difficulty level than a less experienced opponent, allowing you to have a competitive match despite the difference in skill.

Online societies allow gamers to create their own community of golfers to participate in events. This allows players to compete online in tournaments that would be typically found in the offline career mode.

The presence of in-game currency adds another dimension to the competition, creating virtual stakes and providing the winner with the braggadocious thrill of taking prize money from their defeated friends. This is a great option for those who want to combine the pressure and excitement of real-life golf, with the drama and tension of player vs player competition play.

My son and I play 2K23 every other weekend together when he is with me. We were excited for this when we pre-bought EA. Feel like I wasted $. We will go back to 2K23 golf which allows us to play together when he is here.

Is there really no offline multiplayer? Wife creates her own player under her own account, and I have mine. I initiate a quick play match and cannot see/add her local player in the list. Am I doing something wrong?

I'll give them another 28 days to fix this, then I'll get my full refund from Microsoft. This is basically the only must-have feature for me so my wife and I can play together. As for which modes, I want it in all of them. I want to be able to do a quick match with the two of us going head-to-head, I want to be able to have both of us in a tournament together, or even playing doubles against a couple of pros. Make it happen EA.

I have been slogging away on my character side early launch and so have my mate, today I went to his to play a local game, I have my login on his PS5, we both wanted to play with our own character, but for some reason this doesn't seem to be an option. I know my game data is there as it says its all in sync. But when doing a local multilayer, seems my mate can select is own player, but when adding a 2nd player I am not able to use my account data to then select my player, both of us own the game and PS Plus and both logged in on same ps5. I think this is a big over sight and defo needs developing into the game as an option. Not everyone wants to always compete online, it more fun to game together, but want own characters. Not to have to be stuck playing with the pros. I could by all means be wrong and this is a feature that I'm just not executing in the correct way. Thanks

NBA 2K23 brought a new feature to the game where your MyPlayer can replace their build name with past and present NBA player s nicknames. In order to do this, you have to have the same position, height, weight, wingspan, handedness, and number as the player you are trying to replicate.

The second part to this allows a little customization. You have to be within 8 of their current attribute. So if curry has a 36 driving dunk, you can set your driving dunk anywhere from 28 to 44. We have provided the stat ranges under the Stat Ranges tab for each player along with their build attributes. You can also find which team the build is based off of.

We have also created an optimized version of each build that we believe is the best build you can create with that nickname. The builds based off current players do update throughout the season, and we will try to keep their attributes updated, but if it doesn t work, we have provided the link to 2kratings to find their current attributes.

Last but not least, staying in front of a player on defense feels attainable and when a defender beats a ballhandler to the spot, there is a reward of a picked-up dribble, a reset or perhaps a steal. All of those results have been a part of the 2K world for a few years, but now they seem to happen at more logical times.

The MyCareer experience has grown exponentially over the past 7 years. What used to be a basic and linear task list consisting of playing player-locked as your created hooper has evolved into a monstrous and seemingly unlimited collection of activities that could be dizzying for some.

Many fans pined for this element to return to the game and 2K finally obliged by bringing back the Northside Knights, Beasts of the East, South City Vipers, and Western Wildcats. For many users, this will be one of the driving points in their MyCareer experience.

From the day MyTeam launches until around February, the mode is loads of fun to play. Users race to get the best lineups possible and try their hand at Triple Threat Online as well as in MyTeam Unlimited.

All of those functions are back with the addition of player-lock availability in every mode, which helps with specific challenges, and Clutch Time is now a launch feature rather something adding post-release.

Each year, the developers expand on a living and breathing virtual city that houses several in-game activities, but is yet separate from features like Play Now Online, MyNBA and MyTeam, which could arguably be separate games.

2K has gone out of its way to build the most amazing tribute and acknowledgment to the history of its sport. No other sports video game leans in as hard to the legends and bygone eras of the game they simulate.

Many of the legend renders are using the same heads from several past generations of consoles. Because of the awesomeness of Eras, seeing subpar facial renders for players like the ones used for George Gervin, George McInnis and others creates an immersion breaker.

Also along the lines of visual representation of the player models, the number of body types needs to be expanded. There are several players whose arms are notably too short. This is the case with some of the legends like David Robinson, Xavier McDaniel and more.

The MyTeam mode is in desperate need of a salary cap mode to balance the experience. I mentioned earlier, the mode gets stale or a bit ridiculous around February when the amount of overpowered players removes the balance and much of the strategy.

The most modest option on my wishlist is to simply have a salary cap mode that places limitations on the number of high-tiered cards thereby making all the cards in the game more valuable, and in my opinion, the mode more fun.
