Greetings from Team Technozion - NIT,Warangal!
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal has its annual International Students' Technical Symposium – TECHNOZION scheduled to be organized during the 28th – 30th of September 2012.
One of the hallmarks of Technozion has always been the presence of notable luminaries gracing the Institute portals, delivering inspiring lectures, video conferencing and conducting interactive workshops for the benefit of the student community.
We have taken up the theme "Gandhian engineering" (Frugal engineering) for this version which embraces the idea of value for many. The term being coined by Dr. Ragunath Mashelkar, we are trying to spread the message among the young engineers to take up sustainable innovation through this theme. Gandhi ji, our nation’s prime freedom fighter, is well known for his simplicity, asceticism and frugal lifestyle. He fought for freedom and right. We strongly believe technology is freedom and right.
For the first time, Technozion is conducting a FOSS Meet during the symposium. The FOSS Meet includes 4 Guest Talks,2 Hands-on workshops,A video conference and a hack-a-thon. The FOSS Meet is scheduled for 28th to 30th of September 2012.
Event Schedule :
Day1 : On 28th September, Mr.Atul Chitnis, Founder of FOSS.IN will give a keynote speech and inaugurate the FOSS Meet. It will be followed by student presentations and Hack-a-thon
Day2:
On the 29th September, Pradeepto Bhattacharya - a KDE contributor is giving a talk and Hands-on Workshop on KDE,GIT and Qt
Day3:
On the 30th September, Mr.Sashank Dara, Sr.Software Engineer, CISCO Systems is going to present a tech talk on Security Science and Engineering - FOSS Landscape
It will be followed by a Video Conference by Mr.Micheal de Raadt, MOODLE.ORG presenting a talk on "Moodle as a Open Source Software and FOSS Culture"
The final Session will be a Tech Talk,followed by Hands On Workshop by Mr.Pramode CE on GNU/LINUX and Embedded Systems.
The FOSS Meet is the inception of Open Source Community at NIT-Warangal. It will be a boost for the budding contributors to hear an experienced Open Source Contributor.
