making APK debuggable

hi
there's an APK I want to debug. i used apktool to decompile then edit manifest.xml but when i want to recompile it back there is resource error. I think because of being packed
is there any other way? like just decoding then encoding the manifest file only?
im using a rooted emulator but i think cause the app is not flagged as debuggable im facing exceptions.

wel i excuted amulator with some arg and jeb does not show any thing.no nag nothing in log.
now....can i debug in source level? when i decompile i can not place bp
