Hi there-

Just read about Jdrop in Luke Wroblewski's notes from the "High
Performance Mobile" talk at Mobilism. Very excited to give it a try,
but I can't seem to get any data through.

My process:
1) Installed Mobile Perf bookmarklet on my iPhone 4
2) Signed into Jdrop in mobile Safari on my phone
3) Opened the bookmarklet on a page in another mobile Safari window
and sent data to Jdrop "successfully" from Page Resources, DOM Monster
& Docsource.
4) Logged in on my desktop and find nothing in "My JSON".
5) Tried again with a different site with the same results.
6) Tried again with same site in the same window I previously signed
into Jdrop from.
7) Tried again with 3G instead of office Wi-Fi.

Any ideas? More info I can give?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi, Crsven.

After step #3 instead of logging into the desktop try going to Jdrop
on your iphone and see if the data is there. If it is, the likely
cause is that you signed in differently on the iphone vs desktop.

Hi Steve-

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, that does not work either.
I've tried with the same account on my phone, the iPhone simulator,
Chrome & Firefox. I also tried using a different Google account and
creating a new one. I checked out the POSTs in Firebug & Web Inspector
and they seem OK from the client-side.

One new issue that occurred when I logged in with my secondary Google
account and my new Google account is that I ended up with the
following: https://picasaweb.google.com/crsven/JDropProblem?authkey=Gv1sRgCNCEzqGF6pyN5AE&feat=directlink
It appears this may be non-Public JSON from another user, as it does
not show up on the Public page. This remains until I clear my cache
and returns if I log in with either of those accounts again. That
makes me think there may be some issue with certain accounts/account
types. I'm not real familiar with Google accounts, so I don't really
have any guess there. If you'd like me to send you the contents of the
POSTs or any other information, I'd be happy to do that.

Hi, Crsven.

Your test case works for me, and no one else is reporting problems. I can't be certain, but it's likely this is an issue specific to you. Don't bother with the desktop issues. Try these steps in mobile Safari on iPhone 4:
  1. clear cookies and cache
  2. go to http://jdrop.org/
  3. login with OAuth - did you use Twitter or Google?
  4. open another "tab" and go to http://www.amazon.com/
  5. launch Page Resources from the Mobile Perf bookmarklet
  6. click "save to Jdrop" - did you get the "success" dialog box?
  7. go back to the Jdrop "tab" in Mobile Safari and reload the page - do you see the Page Resources results from Amazon?
Please file a bug with your results and we'll carry on the conversation there.

-Steve
