Dear Douglas Parents community,
I am writing in regards to the news today that BC School will be closed (until further notice) to reduce the harm of the COVID-19 outbreak.
What does this mean for the Douglas parent community and what can we do to help?
1. Our commitment to inform and connect with the school community is more important than ever, as more news related to our school becomes available, you will be informed. Follow our tweets at @jamesdouglaspac.
2. The fundraisers that we've had up to Spring Break has been great. We thank the community for that. Last Friday we had the 4th Annual walkathon at the annex, and pledges can be made through
schoolcashonline.com. Take care of yourself, your family, and neighbours first. When you can, consider donating to your school PAC.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TrZCYhkvFNNN6GkB6dHIqtoHsCEbdst_SZiea9K0_fg/edit?usp=sharing3. For munchalunch, we will be closing any open lunch sessions and fundraisers. For those who have purchased lunches in advance, credits will be rolled over to when school is back in session or in September (depending on how long the closure affects our community). More information about the credit process will be made available once the PAC has more information.
4. Wash your hands. Self isolate. Don't travel unless you have to. Get strong. Stay healthy. Be mindful. Be honest. Be nice to your neighbour. Learn new things. Together we can get through this.
Direct message me if you need someone to lend an ear. Be in touch.
