Linux (Ubuntu) multiple displays

Hi - wondering if anyone else has run into this issue:
In Ubuntu 10.10, running any possible flavor of java, I receive the
"Full-screen mode not supported. Please consider upgrading your
version of Java..." error on my workstation that has multiple
displays.
I noticed that if I disable my second monitor, everything works great.
