I've downloaded JCrypTool for OS X.
After downloading I've unzipped the file in /Applications.
When I try to run JCrypTool I get a warning: "The JCrypTool executable launcher was unble to locate its companion shared library".
I had installed Java for Mac OSX from Apple, but I've installed the JDK from Oracle.
What more can I do?
Or this program won't run on Mac OSX Sierra?
Thanks

Hi,

Please download our latest weekly build from https://www.cryptool.org/en/jct-downloads/jct-downloads-weekly-en Our weekly builds are pretty stable at this point and do support OS X Sierra.

Regards, Dominik

I did, but have the same problem. I've only got it to work executing the script into the package under Contents/MacOS/ but it went with a bunch of errors.
Is there an specific procedure to install it under MAC OSX?
Thanks

I've given JCrypTool a try on OS X Sierra, without any problems (well, context click because it is not signed for the first start). Please have a look at the .log file in ~/Documents/.jcryptool/.metadata and send me this file. It should contain some helpful information. Feel free to cut off your username of that file, I don't need that. Dominik

Sorry for the delay but I'm not at home and couldn't connect until now.
There you have the log file.
Thanks for your support

Hi, Sorry for my delay as well. I've checked your log file, it seems your system only contains Java 1. You can verify this by entering "java -version"  (without the "") in a terminal. JCrypTool requires Java 8, which is not available from Apple but from Oracle. Simply download the latest JRE from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html and install it. After that JCrypTool should work.

In terminal:

java -version

java version "1.8.0_102"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_102-b14)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.102-b14, mixed mode)

 I've downloaded again JRE from oracle.

When I try to install JRE I get the following message:

There's a newer version installed. 1.8.102.14 installed

I have installed Java from Apple before because it's mandatory for Audinate's Dante Software; could it be the problem? I mean some kind of incompatibility between Java versions?

Thanks

Andrés

This is weird. You log indicates at the beginning, that the following Java version is used:

java.version=1.6.0_65
java.vendor=Apple Inc.

That is the old Apple Java implementation. Maybe this helps: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21964709/how-to-set-or-change-the-default-java-jdk-version-on-os-x There is a hint on how to set JAVA_HOME to point to the correct location (1.8.0).
