Using JConnect: Integration Joomla with codeigniter?

My idea is to build it around Joomla, and then use codeigniter as the
BigSocialNetwoking.
I'm planning a BigSocialNetwoking, a good CMS and lot's of
flexibility, so my choice is Joomla.
I am now trying to accomplish that if a user logs in to Joomla they
should
automatically get logged in to applicaion based on codeigniter as
well.
I did try the external db settings in codeigniter, but didn't make it
work. I also found some modifications, It didn't work for me either.

I think you are asking to get-logged into multiple sites (Joomla and
ur CI one..)
and normally normal DB setup doesnot provide that..
and you've to deal with session and cookies...
and there several other things (eg- Cross domain stuff)..

anyway U've come 2 the right place ....
with JConnect you can do this with Joomla and other applications
support JConnect..
What u've to done is make ur CI application as a JConnect external
application...

and of course u need get familiar with JConnect so follow the JConnect
development site & get familiar with it..
