Cc:“World Blood Donor Day (WBDD)” is observed on 14th June every year. This annual global celebration aims to create awareness of the need for safe blood for transfusion and to highlight the importance of blood donation. WBDD is also a day to celebrate and thank those people throughout the world who donate blood. The theme this year is “Thank you for saving my life”.
On the occasion of “World Blood Donor Day” Jehangir Hospital have organised Blood Donation Camp on 13th June, 2015 at Jehangir Hospital Blood Bank.

WHO CAN DONATE BLOOD?
· If you are between 18 and 65 years
· If you are healthy, your weight is 45 kg and above
· If your last donation was more than 3 months ago
· If you are healthy & have not suffered from jaundice, malaria, typhoid or other transmissible diseases in recent past
DO NOT DONATE BLOOD
· If you are fasting on that day
· If you had fainting attacks during last donation
· If you are ill, feeling generally unwell or tired, or not have slept well last night
· Immediately after heavy meals, intoxicating drinks, or strenuous exercises
· If you have history of alcoholism, drug addiction or promiscuity
· If you have shared a needle to inject drugs or have had sexual relations with different partners, or are a sexual partner of any high risk individual
· If you are suffering from any illness presently or recuperating after a serious illness, or an operation.
· Ladies: If you are menstruating, pregnant, nursing your baby, or have had an abortion or miscarriage recently
