Subject: [LGBTEVENTS] We The People: LGBTQIA American Indian Heritage

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:

LGBTQIA Programs & Services invites you to
“We The People: LGBTQIA American Indian Heritage” on Thursday, November 4th @ 5:30pm in Student Union 301.  This event celebrates American Indian culture with poetry, readings, and video clips, followed by a discussion with Justin Begaye from the Kansas City Indian Center.  Justin will speak to the contemporary experience of American Indians.  We invite you to come and learn about American Indian culture and enjoy fry bread and Indian tacos.

LGBTQIA Programs & Services are also hosting
“Coming Out” for the Holidays: A Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, & Intersex “Coming Out” Workshop Series, beginning Tuesday, November 2nd @ 3:30pm in the “Rainbow Lounge”: Student Union 325.  This group is open to all individuals, anywhere in the lifelong “coming out” process as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex.  Come receive tools, resources, and techniques for coping with the challenges that one may face in being out to family, friends, and important others.  Learn ways to support family, friends, and important others in their personal struggle to accept and nurture LGBTQI individuals.

Please see our attached newsletter, The Open Door, for more information.

Thanks,
