Mechanical Engineer 4 (Design & Validation)

Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)

Duration: 18 Months Contract

Rate: 40/hr on w2

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Level 4) to support engine design, validation, and product development within the Fluid Systems Engineering team. This role involves working across the full product lifecycle from concept to production and collaborating with global engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and systems (engine/fluid systems)
• Translate requirements into detailed test plans and validation strategies
• Perform engine testing including combustion and emissions analysis
• Work with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, test, and suppliers
• Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations
• Develop CAD models, engineering drawings, and design concepts
• Support prototype builds, lab testing, and product validation
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations
• Evaluate competitive products and system performance
• Resolve design and manufacturing issues

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Experience with engine systems, combustion, emissions, and calibration
• Hands-on engine lab testing and validation experience
• CAD expertise in Creo / Pro-E (modeling and detailing)
• Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, FEA, CFD
• Experience taking products from concept to production
• Strong test planning and execution skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
