Yo friends,

Just making a friendly reminder to check your tires.

Commuting in NYC, I check mine often and I found a piece of glass in my tire yet again today.

Allen mentioned his gatorskins lasted thousands of miles with no puncture. On this commute, you'll be lucky to get 500 miles with no puncture.

Unless you check you rubber often.

Most tires have some kind of puncture protection, but even the best tires can get flat. I've found that many a flat, I didnt even see any glass at that specific moment - nor did I hit a pothole or anything. Once I caught a flat on my trainer. lol.

So I started checking my tires for embedded glass. The flat protection can be working great, but every time you roll over that spot of embedded glass you can be pushing the glass further and further. Eventually, that piece of shit glass will make it through to your tube.

You may already know this, but yea - take a second to check your tires. No PRs are earnedon flat tires.

Ride safe, homies.
