Just gauging interest levels. Weather dependent. Route is primarily the LIE service road and Montauk Highway (Rt 80 -> Rt 27). Easily a 120-130 mile day (150+ if you're cray and start from JC), but with multiple locations to bail on the LIRR along the way. No real hills, and if we get a good tailwind the pace can be really quick. Better to start painfully early (painful for me at least). Thoughts?

Tristines going to be away that weekend so this is definitely a possibility for me.

If it's Sunday I can definitely do it but not sure I can do more than 60 miles since I'm out of shape.

I'm going to tentatively say I'm in. I CC'd my queens fam too as they are queens heads that ride LIE often.

Diegs, see below for details on a mellow Long Island century.

Sat is looking like the better day for the ride. Are people still interested? Friday looks even better, so, if nobody really wants/can go on Sat, I'll prob go on Fri and be down for that 9w ride on Sat too.

Friday is a no go for me. I can do something on Saturday. Just realized I called a ride that overlaps yours. Not sure I'm prepped for a hundo.

Ara, what do you think the timing of this one will be.. I might still be interested in doing this with you.

It'll be one of the other for me.

If we meet at/leave from the Triangle (LIE service road @ Little Neck Parkway) it's about 105 miles to the Montauk train station. Call it 7 hours at 15mph. If we go to the Montauk Point Lighthouse add another 12 miles (60-90 minutes). I'd say if we started rolling at or a little before 7am, we could hit Montauk by 2pm, including 3 quick stops along the way, if we make better time than that, we can go to the point and come back and still make the 3:30 train back to Jamaica.

The 3:30 is supposed to arrive at Jamaica by 6:10. Riding from Jamaica station back to the Triangle (assuming you parked there) is about 9 junk miles. So, assuming everything works out you'd be back in your car by ~7pm.

If for some reason we missed the 3:30, there's a 5:35 and a 7:33.

It's definitely a huge time sink, no matter how you slice it.

My friend Mark is going, and after talking to him about it, I think we're going to get rolling by 6:30am at the Triangle.

Ro, you coming? No worries if you're not, I just want to know for sure so Mark and I don't have to hang around wondering tomorrow morning =D

Nah, have fun though. I gotta stay local for the fam. Gonna do something simple.

Thanks for checking in.
