Let me know if anyone is interested in riding from NY to Philly around the Sat June 13th (flexible). We'll probably return the same day on Amtrak, ~$75, including baggage fee for bike. ,

I want to do this ride but I'm going to be up in Portland, ME that weekend. I can probably shoot for a weekend in July or August. Or even later in June. Who do you have in so far?

the usual suspects, Dery and Paty. I know Dan from work said he'd also be interested. Later in June is fine. I just want to get some long rides in before I start Marathon training in the summer.

Let me toss some dates out there. Just need to review my calendar. If I can't make it take lots of pictures.

Rescheduling to Saturday June 20th. We are contemplating renting a van for the return trip If we get enough people. I'll post details about start and route soon

This date works for me right now. I'll probably take the advantage to visit some friends when we get there so I'll likely stay overnight.

I joined this google group pretty recently. Can one of you guys spell out the ride for me?
How many miles/elevation/planned times/pace/etc.

I might be down if I can plan some activities for the wife and kids to drive up, chill and meet me/us in Philly around our ETA.

about 100 miles if we follow Greenway. I don't have elevation stats yet but should be manageable because it goes through the towns. We'll pick a river crossing that works for most of us as the starting point and leave early ~6am. Leaving early will give those of us who're coming back the same day plenty of time to pickup a van rental (or take Amtrak back). As for the pace, I think 15 mph avg will be good. There is an alternative route by Adventure Cycling which is more scenic and very hilly but I'm concerned that it might be too much for a single day ride. We'll finalize the plans in the next 10 days.

In what's surprisingly becoming the routine, I'm going to have to cancel due to more bike malfunctions. Cracking fork = no riding for me.

Good luck guys. Take lots of pictures.

Yea. I'm done with Felt. This thing has been nothing but headaches.

We're going to try to do this Sunday 7/19 (coming back the same day) There are 4 of us coming from Weschester, varying skill levels, so we'll go easy. I'm thinking of starting near the Newport Ferry Terminal ~6 am

Let me talk to the boss. If i can entice her with a dinner in Philadelphia I might be able to swing it.

Also, depending on the route you may want to start in Newark. The stretch from JC to Newark is very treacherous.
