It's difficult to compare to other vendors in a sentence, but I believe jBPM is much more built as a set of smaller components where you can choose which ones you like and use them the way you like, like embedding in your JEE application.
That said we do compete with these product on various use cases.

If considering jBPM as an integrated process engine to use in connection with a given JEE application, would the 2 other products cited in the subject be considered direct competition? My impression is they are a different class of product however the terminology used to talk about them is similar. I would consider the latter products to be more a type of "groupware". Any thoughts?
