Please review the site over the next couple of days.

http://www.jboss.org/jdf/stage/

Feedback direct to me for now :-)

Issues which I particularly want feedback for:

* Is the CTA (call to arms) for the front page correct - Get Started With TicketMonster - and does it lead to the right page?
* How is the navigation system to use?
* What can we do for "Get Involved" for migration
* Is the "What is jdf" text any good?

Issues we are working on:

* Nicer graphics for the spotlight - Mrs Burr is working on it :-)
* styling for the View all news page
* more news articles :-)

And stuff that we plan to address later:

* better linking of identity (Arquillian.org has this to sort out too, hopefully we can both consolidate at some point)
* better styling for the guides

This looks REALLY nice Pete. I'm not sure if the ticket-monster demo is very self-explanatory, though. Not sure what to do about that. It doesn't really scream "I am a showcase for JBoss!"

Is it the demo or how is it presented?

Why *wouldn't you* want to show it to your intended audience?

What do you feel is missing?

If you had one single thing that you could add, what would that be?

These are questions for everyone on this list.

Please note that whatever JBoss-specific things are in JDF 1.0 (Forge, Richfaces, JBoss Tools, Errai) are showcased in the demo (TM) as well. The thing is, JDF 1.0 is about doing standard Java EE 6 right with JBoss technologies and the demo is trying to show that (if that does not become apparent, it must be fixed). As we move forward with the roadmap, the demo will increasingly depart from vanilla Java EE 6 and start showing more of the JBoss-specific stuff.

Well.. I can't seem to find it any more (maybe this broken link http://www.jboss.org/jdf/stage/examples/ticket-monster) but when I clicked into ticket monster, it just looked like a weird ticketing app where I couldn't do anything. Also... I didn't really see any way to quickly see how the page was created - like on each page we should have a "click to view source" button or something like that, which would pop-up and display the source code, beans, and view files for the current page.

I think that would be nice since this is supposed to be educational.

Great idea, now is stolen. My thinking was to have a link to the appropriate tutorial (somewhere in the footer). Maybe that would work as a stopgap.

Ok, so this probably answers the question "What should the CTA be?" as "Read the guide", as you are saying that running TicketMonster isn't very meaningful right now.

This is true, at least until we can upgrade TicketMonster to have good online (integrated) help.

Can you remember what path you took on the website to get to this point? Then I can upgrade the info on this path to be clearer.

Also, I think you hit the "h2 bug" where after some period of time, we loose all the data, so the app stops doing anything!

I'll see if we can solve some of this by re-enabling the 'About' page
and adding some actual content on it.

I'll move this to mysql today - just for Openshift for now.

While the deployment is still fresh and working, this is how the admin
site looks like (changed visuals to match the rest of the app).

I'm getting some errors with the hosted version of ticketmonster, but I'm assuming you're in between deployments or something.

The JDF site is looking very nice!!

It looks like the link to seam2 is broken on this page: http://www.jboss.org/jdf/stage/about/roadmap/

What's the plan for the Buzz page?
 - Imo, this can look better just as part of the home page.

Are the forums really just mailing lists?
 - What is backing this ? http://www.jboss.org/jdf/stage/jdf-users/ it looks cool.
 - I know there were some discussions on this, just not sure where it ended, and have not seen this UI before.

I'll take a longer look a littler later as well, but wow this is looking great!

Markup error :-)

It get's populated with any tweets hashtagged #jboss-jdf, but we don't have any today.

We've discussed homepage tweets before, and there is concern that

a) it's not really what people want to see on the homepage
b) risk of negative comments

Yes
Nabble embedded into the site using an iframe.

Still some work to do here to link the users back to the jboss.org users.

This is a global problem, that arquillian.org solves by requiring the use of github ids in most places (which then links back into their very nice identity crawler code). We don't have the luxury, as we are pulling from outside sources, which uses people's real names, so I need to add a fuzzy lookup based on real names.

H2 seems broken so the database will die after an hour of inactivity or
so. I am switching to MySQL for OS.

I added an intro page (also accessible when you click on the 'about' item).

Does it help or hinder?
