Dear Prof Chavan,

We, the students of batch 2013-16, who have recently appeared 6th semester examinations in May 2016 would like your Urgent intervention.

On May 9, we appeared for Project Management exam at various examination centers across Mumbai. Nearly one and an half hour after the exam started at 11 am, University of Mumbai pointed out important numerical mistakes at 2/3 places in the question paper.

As the mistake was revealed almost 150 minutes late, majority of the students had already answered half the question paper including the two / three sums with the numerical values already mentioned (before any correction was announced) in the question paper.

Sir, as you would be well-conversant, it is not easy solving numerical sums again in such short period of time.

At K J Somaiya
College, for example, students were told to write in the Answer Sheet that the numerical mistake was pointed out at 1.30pm, and so, the paper checker should consider the solved sum as per the earlier numbers. At Matunga’s Wellingkars, and even our own college, students were given 15 minutes grace period, which is not enough for doing calculations.

Students have voiced a concern to whether the paper checker is aware of this delay, and whether the mistake which actually changes the entire answer will be condoned with the student given the benefit as is due to him / her in such a situation.

The reason for writing this mail is therefore, to request your kindself to please urgently represent our concern to Mumbai University on the said issue.

Thank You for your support as always.

Warm Regards,

 Ambrose Holmes
