There are a number of Beta periods for players to jump in and test out the latest Modern Warfare experience. The Beta will feature a variety of maps both from the 16 modernized Core maps, as well as new experiences in Ground War-modes.
As part of the 20th anniversary of Call of Duty, Sledgehammer Games have assembled one of the greatest collections of Modern Warfare maps ever. All 16 launch maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) have been modernized, both in terms of attention to detail and general graphical upgrades.
A few weeks after the launch of Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty is gearing up to introduce Season 1. This marks the commencement of the first multiplayer season for the latest installment, resetting the season count for Warzone. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been officially announced. This announcement only confirmed the game's title and release date after a myriad of leaks, but a full reveal event is set for August 17, confirmed as part of Warzone 2.0's Season 5 that should provide players with more information surrounding what modes and maps the upcoming game will contain.
A new trailer on August 9 (also on the Call of Duty YouTube channel) confirmed the fan-favorite Modern Warfare villain, Vladimir Makarov, will be returning to the franchise in the upcoming game with Price's voice-over setting him up to be as menacing as ever, and it's possible that the "Never bury your enemies alive" quote in the original trailer could be referring to a new backstory for Price and Makarov's long-standing rivalry. The trailer showed a brief clip of what appeared to be an updated version of the original Modern Warfare 2's infamous "No Russian" attack by Makarov's terrorist cell, which was referenced in the rebooted Modern Warfare 2's post-credits sequence.
According to a report from Bloomberg earlier in the year, Modern Warfare 3 was originally planned as a "premium expansion" of Modern Warfare 2 before transforming into a standalone game due to overwhelming content changes. If the third game in the series includes modes from Modern Warfare 2, players can expect popular game modes like Domination, Invasion, Search and Destroy, among others, to return to the game. More details should emerge as the November 10 release date for Modern Warfare 3 approaches.
Unlike the Modern Warfare series, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard spanned different eras, and so their Warzone content resulted in duplicates for some weapon types, such as different AK-47s from the modern day, the 1980s, and the 1940s, and created an imbalance in gameplay. By keeping the focus on the Modern Warfare series with consecutive releases in 2022 and 2023, Warzone 2.0 will simply receive a large update that will allow players to keep their characters and load-outs upon Modern Warfare 3's launch rather than a significant overhaul.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 will launch on August 2, 2023 at 9AM PT on all platforms. Shortly before this time, servers will go down, with a large update required to experience the new season.
While the developers confirmed that new Ground War maps will launch on day one, they focused primarily on Core maps for the game, showing off five of the 16 Core maps that will be available in the beta and coming at launch. Starting on November 8 at 10:00 AM PT/1 PM ET, you can start your preload of the full game, including the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies modes. At this time, servers for Multiplayer and MWZ are offline, but players who preordered the game do have early access to the full campaign.
To preload MW3 on Xbox or PC, you will need to visit your platform's storefront and download the new Call of Duty HQ launcher. If you already have MW2 or Warzone installed, you can simply update your existing Call of Duty HQ to gain access to MW3 when it releases. On Xbox, this update will require 135 GB of storage, so clear up your hard drive before starting the download.

Activision has confirmed a November 10 release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III with a teaser trailer following a barrage of leaks.
The shooter, which is going to be a direct sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare II, was the subject of lots of reports and leaks prior to this announcement. Reports from Bloomberg revealed that this game was originally going to be a Modern Warfare II expansion, but it later got upgraded to a full game. Then, over the summer, more game details started to leak before some Monster Energy advertisements revealed the game's title prematurely. Activision coyly acknowledged this leak on Twitter at the time, but finally pulled the curtain back on the project today with a video titled "Modern Warfare III is Coming."

It begins with some green soundwaves on-screen and a lot of radio chatter in the background. Then, the soundwaves turn from green to red before the perspective then pushes into them, creating a trippy red void. In there, we briefly see waveform images of a snake and Captain Price before he says, "Never bury your enemies alive" over the silhouette of a new character. This is believed to be Vladimir Makarov, the villain of the original Modern Warfare trilogy, who was teased in the post-credit scene for last year's campaign. After all of that, the title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is confirmed, as is the release date of November 10.
This date falls right in line with the late October to early November window in which Call of Duty games usually come out. It also places its launch after Microsoft's Activision Blizzard acquisition is expected to be complete, so it looks like this may be the first Call of Duty game released under Microsoft. Other than that date, official details on the game are fairly scarce. Thankfully, we shouldn't have to wait too much longer to learn more.
