I'd make a couple of suggestions...
First off, jBase is a variant of a database model known as Pick. Therefore, documentation about the general structure of Pick data and programming can be applied to jBase in most cases, and is easier to find. A good source for this is http://www.jes.com
Secondly, the jBase web site also contains a good bit of material. That is http://www.jbaseintl.com
Good luck, and welcome aboard...

Learn PICK/MV before you try an tackle jBASE.
There are some good books online to help. Browse to:
http://jes.com/jesbio.html#books
and scroll down to the Bibliography section. There are 2 titles you
should read:
# Exploring the Pick Operating System, First and Second Editions
(Hayden Books)
# PICK/BASIC: A Programmer's Guide, First and Second Editions
(TAB/McGraw-Hill)
The Pick/Basic book is available as a free download by clicking on the
"First" edition link.
Good luck and welcome to the clan,
