Jbase team,

After I intalled the TAFC R9 in windows 2008, I can't JED the record
of TABLE using the normal user. The normal user is belong to
administrators group.
JED F.SPF SYSTEM
Error 22 during READ_ERROR to file default_F_SPF
Enter I to Ignore, R to Retry , Q to Quit :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But If I try to JED the same record of TABLE using the
"administrator" user, it is successfully.

If I run the "jdiag -dv" using administrator user, I get the
following:
Status of jBASE Services
========================

jBASE Telnetd Server - RUNNING
Attunity Navigator Daemon - Failed to open : Service is not
Installed
jBASE jRFS Server - Failed to open : Service is not
Installed
jLicServer as a Service - Failed to open : Service is not
Installed
jSlimServer as a Service - Failed to open : Service is not
Installed

If I run the "jdiag -dv" using the normal user, I get the following:
Status of jBASE Services
========================
WARNING: Failed to open Service Control Manager, error 5

What's the possible reason for my issue? I can't get the help from
cleint, because they don't know as well. Your idea would be greatly
appreciated.

Cheers,
Ben

Obviously you installed as the Administrator user, but hte user you are
logged in as, while it may be a member of one of the possible
Administrator groups is not a member of the correct one. For instance
perhaps it also needs to be long to Domain Admins.

However, installing as Administrator and granting users membership of
the Domain Admins group is asking for disaster, so I hope that that
isn't the standard installation instructions. Uninstall everything and
create a jBASE or T24 installation user and a jBASE or T24 group. Grant
the relevant permissions to the user and group, and install T24/jBASE as
that user. Now create real logins for your users and make them a member
of the jBASE or T24 group that you created. Add permissions that you
need in small steps and remove any that you do not need.

Dear Ben,

Kindly check the configuration of the config.file.Is Oracle is
running?. Are you able to login in Oracle from T24/Globus.

Many Thanks.
We find the reason.
In windows 2008, we need to disable UAC( user account control).
Before disable, the user even couldn't modify his own files.
After disable, everything is ok.

Cheers,
Ben
