T24 - Nofie Enquiry

Hi,

All ,
I have a one doubt in Nofile Enquiry .. in case of FILE Enquiry ..
if we mention a fields in Selection Criteria Like CUSTOMER , COMAPNY,
SECTOR .. drop down will be coming .. but in case of NOFILE Enquiry
even though if we mention the same fields like CUSTOMER, SECTOR ...
it wont displays the Dropdown... why it is so ????

please any one give me a brief idea about this ..it would helps me a
lot

Hi,

the difference is that for Nofile enquiry there is not a real file
behind. There are like virtual definitions in Standard Selection for
fields. But the whole selection process and data handling must be
managed through the programs you need to develop. See the example
enquiry STMT.ENT.BOOK for the reference purposes. There you have
everything.

In case of file enquiry, the enquiry selection fields brings the properties of fields defined in SS.

The selection fields like CUSTOMER, COMPANY, etc., will have the check file to the corresponding file to validate.

But in case of NOFILE enquiry, the enquiry will only look at the SS for selection fields, and the fields defined in SS are

just user defined fields. So the drop down list will not be available for that. May be you can try to set properties of field at SS level.

HI Madhu,

if you define USR.REL.FILE in SS with the application name which you want it as a drop-down.the enquiry selection will form the drop down list accordingly.
