Hi,

How to assign external users [i.e ARC internet users] password in T24?

Is it possible to migrate TIB internet user information to ARC?

Hi Suresh,

ARC doesn't have any authentication system for the passwords. There is a field in EB.EXTERNAL.USER application to check whether system has to check the password or not. If you check that field you need to configure the external authentication / 3rd party authentication system like RSA/ ACTIVE IDENTITY in T24 ARC and Tomcat level with jar files etc.  But you must buy the third party authentication system and integration must be done with ARC. Then when users logged in first time into ARC browser first it goes to the third party authentication system and authenticate the user name and password and comes to T24 (Since it shares the T24 DB directly). The integration between then authentication system and T24 ARC must include online communication when we create EB.EXTERNAL.USER to store the user name and passwords in the 3rd party authentication system.

Regarding your second query to migrate from TIB to ARC is doubtful. Manual creation is only solution. But you can migrate the beneficiaries, payees but not the users. Because we can not use the same passwords which are used in the TIB. You must generate passwords in ARC once again by using AI& AA and the same should be stored in the 3rd party external system which will be helpful later for logging in.

Even if you find the jbase file which stores the user information and convert into text file and upload through OFS message its not creating the EB.EXTERNAL.USER application properly, because in manual creation of EB.EXTERNAL.USER validate button has the functionality to update some files which through OFS its not happening. .... These are the updates from my end.....let me know your thoughts too!

My doubt is now, How to generate password in ARC by using AI & AA and what is process to store or update this password to 3rd party authentication system i.e ACTIVE IDENTITY ?

Is it require authentication-t24server.jar file in T24 to generate external users password?

Hi Suresh,

 

Your integration must go in this flow:

 

1. You must install and create AA & AI and need to create a product as internet banking in AA in T24.

2.  You must have knowledge on this otherwise you can contact model bank team to send the demo DB and same can be configured.

3.  Need to configure third party system for in and out flow of data (Outgoing will be from T24 to 3rd party with EB.EXTERNAL.USER and incoming will be with encrypted password).

4. With created AA& AI you need to create user by using EB.EXTERNAL.USER and send the data to third party (Which will be tomcat in one of the folder)

5. 3rd Party authentication system will pick the data and generate the password in 3rd party authentication

6. The same password needs to be updated in T24 (The updation either it can be automated through interface or it can be copied and pasted in the encrypted format in T24)

7. This password will be stored in EB.EXTERANAL.USER application only.

 

Check with Temenos model bank team for complete flow. It will be based on the authentication system it wont be same for all.

 

I heard that R9 onwards they are incorporating some more features regarding this passwords for change of password etc. Let me know your version too....
