T24:Printing Via "SERVER PRINTER" on Dsektop Icon

Hi All,

I have the above issue to address in T24 environment with the
following systems information.

OS Release : Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant)

T24 for MCB R06 and Jbase 4.1
Desktop Release Information 1.4

PRINTER NAME: HP Laser Jet P2015n

Brief on the Issue:

I have done all the necessary settings from desptop side of both jbase
and desktop end such as PRINTER.ID, DE.FORM.TYPE and printer setup all
in desktop. In my profile, fields 42 and 43 hasbeen update with the
PRINTER.ID. It is possible to print via P-Function and "send snapshot
local printer" icon.
But when i click "SERVER PRINT" icon on desktop it actually print
directly to NETWORK PRINTER SETUP or named in PRINTER.ID AND
DE.FORM.TYPE BUT when it reach the Network Printer the FONT CHANGES TO
BOLD TYPE automatically thereby making it not aligned properly and not
printing all the information on A4 paper that the Bank wanted to use
for their report printing.
The question now is "HOW TO CHANGE OR SUPPRESS THE FONT TO A SMALLER
SIZE FROM LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM LEVEL or from where please?".
There by printing any sent report in smaller characters.

How could this printer setting be achive please?

Hi Raphael,

 

Hope you have done all the  font settings inside PRINTER.ATTRIBUTES and DE.FORM.TYPE. The network printer you have also have its font settings and diff font sizes, length and width, no of lines setting according to the page size and few more things. If you have not set these yet get a printer configuration and ammend according to A4 size page. 

 

You can also check the format of your PRINT before it gets out of the printer by closing OS level queue and issue enquiry for print to server and then go to /var/spool/lp/request/"printername"/  or whatever the default path of your printer queue, then there you can find your formatted document. open it by issuing command:  cat "spoolrecordid", If it is in correct format there then everything is O.K on T24 end. You only need to set your printer settings accordingly.

first you must add the IP and printer name by writes in ( vi /ets/hosts ) in jsh command

add
10.144.6.20          infoprint and save

2-  writes in jsh command  smit queue
    Add a Print Queue
