I was disappointed to see Judi's latest district conference video
because it's so obvious she has had plastic surgery on her face.
There is no movement around her eyes, and she has that unnatural wide-
opened eyes look. I would much rather see women age gracefully which
to me means taking care of yourself, but not feeling the need to
attempt to look 20-30 years younger through surgery. A face with a
few well-earned wrinkles and natural, expressive eyes is a beautiful
thing. In Judi's case, the saddest part is that she looked so much
like her beautiful daughter Shanna in the older video clips and
nothing like her now.

Oh well.....

She had that done quite a long time ago . . . .

Oh well, indeed. We do a lot to appear like we're aging gracefully!

Everyone deals with aging differently. Pass no judgment til you've
walked a mile in her shoes.

I am 50 and fortunate enough to have genes that enable me to look much
younger; so you are right in that if I looked my age, I can't be sure
that I wouldn't consider surgery. It's just that it concerns me what
message we send our kids and grandkids when we are so concerned with
our outer appearance that we are willing to undergo surgery (plastic
surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction, etc). It just seems that,
as a culture, we are often more concerned with what is on the outside
than what is on the inside. But in this case, even considerng outer
appearances, I just prefer wrinkles and expressive eyes to the frozen
look of too much surgery.

Just a thought, remember that Judi is selling a business that has to
appeal to a younger generation. Those of us who have been around from
the beginning of Jazzercise accept Judi as she is, but what about the
young people? If Judi looked haggard and "old" would the average 18
year old want to even try Jazzercise? How many young people really
research their purchases rather than buy from an emotional basis or
buy what appeals to them by sight?

Thanks Shay,
Things are settling down in my life again--not so much traveling as I
used to do. My kids are happy about that. Lucky me, time to teach my
16-year-old to drive. Ok, I'm really good at refraining from using
that imaginary break--but he's killing me on trips to Baskin-Robbins!

Hi, Denise! *waves*

Good timing on not traveling so much. Get the tiny servings at BR to
save calories. Glad things are well with you.

Denise, I feel your pain. We finally got private lessons for Just a
Daughter but I am still not good at the imaginary brake pedal three
years later, as she will readily attest!

As for Judi, at least she doesn't look like Joan Rivers!

Hi Joan and Deborah,
We're doing ok on the driving front this week. I need to find a
driving school for my son since he is in private school where they
don't offer driver's training. I'm guessing every state requires
formal training. I didn't have to drive this weekend.

Joan Rivers does look bad doesn't she. Although some of the ladies
are not is bad as her face job.

Texas alows parents to teach their kids an established curriculum. We
did not take them up on their generous offer.

I know myself too well for that--although we've had the discussion,
albeit an excited one, regarding rolling stops, not speeding up when
the lights turn yellow, etc. It's somewhat embarrassing to say do as
I say not as I do (only sometimes, ha!). Now we have to worry about
no texting while driving.

Currently neither of my kids have cars, and I find myself strangely at
ease with that. I sleep better.

I almost put both my parents in an early grave - one time out with me and both of them insisted in enrolling me in a formal class.

I am not looking forward to either child being able to drive. It will only be poetic justice for them to drive me to distraction (or the funny farm).
