Hey Chris let me know what you find. I planning on signing up as soon
as we finish upgrading our off grid power system.

For those of you enrolled in Jimmy Bruno's program:

What are you using for a WebCam? and, more importantly, how is the
audio?

Most cameras I check out online seem to have built-in microphones,
most of which probably suck.

I actually have various microphones and a decent audio interface
hooked up to the computer here, so ideally, I'd love to be able to
defeat or bypass the audio coming from whatever WebCam I buy, and
send out playing samples that sound high-quality.

thanks for any opinions on this,

Chris
P.S. I should have specified that I'm on a Windows-based PC, in
case that makes a difference.

When I did it, I used a laptop. I had a cheap USB camera which didn't have a mic. I plugged my little Sony ECMDS70P mic into the front of the laptop. The software that came with camera recognized the mic. Quality was fine for the purpose.

I suspect that there would be a way to point the computer to the camera for video and somewhere else for audio. But it might depend on the software. Good luck. I wish I could help more.

Cool. Thanks. There are probably a number of ways, I hadn't gotten
around to thinking it thru yet. Got a washer that needs a total
rebuild, and a wind turbine to build. Just another day in paradise.

Hi Chris,
I'm guessing you're not enrolled yet, right? When you do, though, if you
ask this question on the Student Forum, you'll get 100 good answers. There
is a lot of technical info there, too, to get you started, and lots of
support.

[I use a Mac, and I simply use the system built into the computer -- works
fine]

Hope to see you online!

Marc
