Can anyone tell me the name of the bossa nova that Martin Taylor plays on the second half of this video?
Thanks,
Jack

If having a good name makes such a good player, I'm changing mine to
Gibson Fender, or perhaps, Guild Gretsch.
Just a heads up - on iTunes the track is listed as "Just Squeeze Me"

Hi Bob,

I don't know if we're still talking about the same tune, but what I
heard was clearly "My Funny Valentine". The harmonies and even the
melody were very faithful to the tune, so there's no mistaking it.
don't change a hair for me, not if you care for me,

My Funny Valentine by Richard Rogers

Hi Bob,
Yes, definitely My Funny Valentine (iTunes has it mislabeled was all I was saying - they've got it flipped with Just Squeeze Me).

I'm not going to listen again. The first time I did, there's no way that's the tune.
Paul
Hi Paul,
No argument. iTunes has the titles flipped was what I was cautioning -

If you don't hear "My Funny Valentine" there, then you don't know "My
Funny Valentine".

Bobby

Alright, Bob,I was wrong. There were so many breaks on the transmission on my pc, I must have missed the part that gave the tune it's character.
However, I must say that the playing was good but I won't buy that for a song like "My Funny Valentine" which has to be played like a sad ballad should be played.
Sorry folks for the anxiety.

NO anxiety here, but I did go to the horse's mouth for confirmation. The horse in question sez, "Martin Taylor Mbe commented on your link.
Martin wrote: "Hi Zeek, Yes it's My Funny valentine, but I played around with it a lot" So, there you have it. He did play around with a lot and left out some things too, that's what threw me. Betcha he hasn't played it exactly that way since, either. ;)
