Hey Jazzbuddies,
Center For the Arts (CFA) presents legendary pianist, composer and bandleader Cedar Walton
and his trio. Walton's versatility, funky touch and cogent melodic
sense have graced the recordings of many of jazz's greatest players.
Having performed and recorded with such artists as John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins,
J. J. Johnson, Art Farmer/Benny Golson Jazztet and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Walton has earned a reputation as one of the most influential pianists in the history of jazz.
Joining Mr. Walton on stage will be bassist David Williams and drummer Yoron Israel. The Wesleyan Jazz Orchestra begins the concert, performing a short set of Walton's compositions!
COST: Tickets:
$12 general admission, $10 seniors; Wesleyan faculty and staff, and

DIRECTIONS and PARKING: From Boston and points Northeast: Follow I-84 West to Hartford. (See From Hartford and points North: below.)
From Hartford and points North:
Follow I-91 South, exit 22, to Route 9 South. Take exit 15 and turn
right onto Route 66 West (Washington Street). Go through 4 traffic
lights and turn left onto Veteran's Way (across from the Lutheran
Church). (See From Veterans Way below.)
From New York and points Southwest:
Follow I-95 North to I-91 North. Take exit 18 (Route 66). Follow Route
66 West, which turns into Washington Street, into Middletown. You will
go under a railroad bridge and through one traffic light (the
intersection of Vine Street and Route 3). Turn right onto Veteran's
Way. (See From Veterans Way below.)
From New London and points Southeast:
Follow I-95 South to Route 9 north. Take exit 15 and turn left onto
Route 66 West (Washington Street). Go through 4 traffic lights and turn
left onto Veteran's Way (across from the Lutheran Church). (See From Veterans Way below.)
From Waterbury and points West:
Follow I-84 east to exit 27 (Route 66/I-691). Follow Route 66 West,
which turns into Washington Street, into Middletown. You will go under
a railroad bridge and through one traffic light (the intersection of
Vine Street and Route 3). Turn right onto Veteran's Way.
From Veterans Way:
At the stop sign, turn right onto Washington Terrace. Follow an
immediate left into the parking lot. Parking is also available on the
street and in lots off of High Street and Wyllys Avenue.
