"John Fumasoli and The Jones Factor" return to perform @RAC, 04-27...

Hey Jazzbuddies,

The Rye Arts Center (RAC) is pleased to welcome back John Fumasoli and The Jones Factor , a 10 piece "big" band featuring some of NY's finest musicians playing be-bop to modern jazz. Fumasoli, a trombonist, band-leader and teacher, formed The Jones Factor in 1986. John has over thirty years teaching experience in The Fairfield Public Schools and is currently on the faculty of Fairfield University where he teaches jazz history. In addition, he has been a clinician at the prestigious Fairfield University Summer Jazz Camp since its inception.

The members of the band come from diverse musical backgrounds and are active in the NYC performing and recording scenes. Among them they have performed with such renowned artists as: Gerry Mulligan, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Tony Bennett, Joe Henderson Big Band , Warren Hill, EM>Spiro Gyra, The Rippingtons, The Carnegie Hall Jazz Ensemble, Woody Herman Orchestra , Special EFX, Bob Mintzer Big Band and many others.

DIRECTIONS:
From New Haven:
Follow I-95 North or South to exit 19 (Playland Parkway). Continue on Playland Parkway to Milton Road. Turn left onto Milton Road. The Arts Center is located 0.7miles down the road on your right.

From New York:
Follow Rte. 287 North or South (toward Rye) to exit 11. Stay in the right hand lane of the exit ramp to turn right onto Boston Post Road. Drive past an A&P on your right. At the next traffic light, the road veers to the left (towards City Bank) and comes to another traffic light. Stay in the left hand lane and turn left into the traffic circle. Stay to the right of the traffic circle and take your first right and merge onto Milton Road. The Arts Center will be almost immediately on your left.
