I think the broadcast type of a message on http://jazdw.net/tp20.htm is just the broadcast information that any ECU send to the bus for other units. This contains information which other units will use (like speed, activated airbags, direction indicator and so on. The ID and all data will be different in each car type.

Yeah you would be right on that front. Different cars broadcast different info on the bus, I know for example that my GT TDI broadcasts oil temp, coolant temp, speed, battery voltage on the bus but not the boost pressure as I have a Kufatec E-MFA which listens for these and displays them on the MFA/FIS.
