Good morning everyone! 

It was just pointed out to me that we don't have a current thread so I thought I'd get a fresh one started here. 

Hoping that the latest chats between the players and the owners are moving in a productive direction. I realize things are still pretty dry, but I can definitely encourage you that there is a hungry audience out there if you can come up with some topic ideas right now. On top of that, things are going to be wild once a new CBA gets sorted out, whenever that happens. 

I'll leave it at that for now, but I hope you're all keeping safe, and in most places around Canada this week, warm too!

Hey Gang,

Hope all is well.

The FanSided Jay Bird Watching has asked if any of our writers would be interested in joining them on their podcast, next Wednesday at 7pm for Jays Trivia, (Podcast vs JJ). 

This would be at 7pm sharp and you will need to ensure you can make it for this time. You will also need access to Microsoft Teams, as that is how they conduct their podcast.

Also, only a couple people are currently needed so if you are interested but don’t make it on this time, there is most likely going to be future opportunities as we work together with them.

Please just repsond back to this email thread if you are interested and we will go from there.

Lastly, I know I had a big list of topic ideas in the last group chat that I had, so I will copy and paste them below again. I even added a few.

Gang, we are really trying to fill out the days here with a minimum of two to three articles per day. More if we can. We are over the halfway mark in the month and we have not broken the 50 article mark yet. I know life can be busy and things can get pushed aside and the lockout is certainly not helping ideas flow, but remember that great articles do not have to be 1000+ words or take hours upon hours to complete. They can be short, quick, opinion pieces that cover topics and drive straight to the point in 500 words or less. Baseball and Blue Jays fans are reading our material so let's keep the momentum going from our previous months and finish strong. You are more than welcome to do the bigger pieces, and slideshows can really garner views, but we have seen short opinion pieces create discussion and bring lots of fans to the site which benefits everyone in the long run.

Research required (most likely fit for slideshows):
- Highest drafted (late rounds) Blue Jays prospects to make the active roster (drafted by a certain GM, history, feel free to expand)
- 3/5/7/10 Blue Jays prospects looking to breakout next season (can make it based on position if you want)
- Looking at the 2021 drafted prospects and how they finished out the campaign
- Five biggest draft busts under former GM Alex Anthopolous or current GM Ross Atkins
- How the prospects from the veteran rebuild trades turned out
- Former prospects who are currently MiLB free agents
- Free agents from rival AL East teams who could fit with the Blue Jays
- 3/5 of the worst contracts given out by AA or Ross Atkins
- 3/5 of the best or worst trades under AA or Ross Atkins
- Projecting the 2022 opening day roster
- 3/5 players on the roster bubble for 2022
- Ranking the free agents the Blue Jays should go after once the CBA is in place
- Trade packages for Randal Grichuk
- 3/5/7 minor league free agents to consider bringing to Spring Training
- Top Blue Jays players in the last decade


Opinion Pieces (varied opinions can lead to topics being covered more than once):

Sorry I'm chiming in late here, but big thanks to Tyson for taking the time to pitch that long list of ideas, and to welcome all of the new writers. Speaking of which, welcome to the new folks on the team! Excited to have you, and as Tyson said, feel free to reach out to one of both of us at any time with questions or anything. Truly hoping that both sides can get a new CBA hammered out sooner than later, but echoing Tyson again, there is a hungry audience out there waiting for anything you can whip up for 'em, so don't feel like things are dead.

Thanks Brent! I just read through it and enjoyed it for sure. I just tweaked the title to "still belongs in the Hall of Fame conversation". I only did that because he fell off the ballot a long time ago, and I didn't want the snarky internet to say, "hE cAn'T bE!" quite so easily haha.

Hi Tyson, with the Hall of Fame announcement scheduled for tomorrow, I would like to look back at an infamous case involving the Blue Jays: Carlos Delgado. I will explore how Delgado was mistreated by the voters and definitely deserved far more consideration than he got. Potential headline: "Carlos Delgado deserved better from Hall voters."

Hey all, was thinking of doing a piece on predicting one move that the jays and their 4 AL East rivals could make once the lock out ends.  I know it’s not entirely Blue Jays specific but I thought it could be a neat angle to take a look at what moves teams that the jays are directly competing with could make to strengthen their rosters.

Sounds good Callum. As long as you include the Blue Jays and you're talking about the AL East then that'll be more than fine. Just be sure not to tag other teams as keywords.

I think this is dangerous territory but I’m tempted to write a piece on Cito Gaston not getting another job or a hall of fame induction after his time as Blue Jays Manager which I think is wrong quite frankly

With the Brian Flores news it may be  an interesting look or very poor timing on my part.
