Good afternoon everyone, 


I wanted to let you all know that I have submitted my resignation to Fansided, and I will be leaving my position as of December 1st. I realize the timing of this isn't ideal with Tyson leaving at the same time, and I apologize for that. However, between my frustrations, and circumstances in my personal life, I've made the decision to step away. 

I've been with Jays Journal for just shy of 7 years, with six as a co-editor and site expert here, and somehow I've written over 2600 articles for the site during that time. I've had some incredible experiences and I've met a lot of amazing people, and I want you to know I appreciate you all. In particular I'd like to thank Tyson for being an incredible partner, especially for carrying the load at times as things in my own life have come up. You're a good man and I know you'll succeed at whatever you do. 

I'm not sure what the next steps are for me, but know that you're all welcome to reach out to me here whenever you like, and I wish all of you the very best.

It’s truly the end of an era, but It’s been my profound privilege to have worked with you guys for these last 11 months at FanSided. Chris, we hardly know each other well, but I just want to let you know that you are not alone in whatever it is you’re going through. Take it one day at a time. You got this.

Thank you Nick, I appreciate that a lot too. The best part of this job has been meeting so many great people, even the relationships have been mostly virtual haha. I appreciate you, and I hope you'll keep in touch too. 

And that's a fair question, and I was just coming back to this thread to address that when I saw your messages. I'm not sure what the plan for Jays Journal is in December and beyond. In the past the company has both promoted from within (Tyson and I both ended up as editors that way), and I've also seen them look outside for people before as well. I'm not sure if anyone at Fansided has begun the process of looking for a replacement or not, but I'm hoping that ball is in motion. On that note, if anyone has any questions about the job you are welcome to reach out to me privately, and I'm sure Tyson would be willing to answer some questions as well. 

As I said, I'm sorry about the timing of all of this, and I hope that you can all have a place to write and have your voices heard. Given the amount of traffic that Jays Journal sees in a month, I'd be surprised if Fansided didn't come up with a solution at some point sooner than later. I'll be sure to keep you all posted if I hear anything.
