Good evening everyone, 

I noticed that we were working on an outdated thread, so I figured I'd get a fresh one going here. 

Lots going on with the Jays these days, and plenty to write about. As always, if you need help coming up with ideas or anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to Tyson and/or myself.

I’d like to do an article on Biggio and how going back to 2B puts him back in his comfort zone.  Expecting bigger things, but failure could see him on the outside looking in.  I’ve seen articles about Biggio so let me know if this is a different angle to write about.

Is anyone writing up on the Pete Walker DUI arrest and how it will test the Jays “zero tolerance” policy that was implemented in the cases of Osuna and Alomar? 

Should he be fired? Who replaces him? 

Can I explore that?

The idea itself is fine, but I would approach it from the viewpoint of candidates to replace similar to how Charles talks on the subject towards the end of his article. Since Charles covered the area pretty well in presenting the facts, approaching from a viewpoint of candidates for replacement may be the best route otherwise it won’t necessarily be new information we are presenting, especially since it is still a work in progress from a legal standpoint.

I will back off the idea for now out of respect to the legal process and his not guilty plea. People have been run out of town for a lot less but regardless there is a process and I will hold off.

 Sure can Brent! Few ideas off the top of my head:

  • predicting the roster after the latest round of MiLB cuts
  • 3/5 breakout candidates for the season
  • Predicting which players on MiLB contracts could break camp (they have two spots open on the 40-man)
  • Those who used Spring Training to their advantage (overall organization wise, not just active roster)
  • Predicting the Opening Weekend starting rotation given the way Sprinng Training is being laid out right now
  • How the AAA rotation in Buffalo appears to be shaping up
Let me know if any of those seems appealing!

So last week, JJ came in third in the division and gathered 381K views. Top-notch everyone! JJ also passed February's view count and we could hit 1.5 million before the end of the month.

    Afternoon All,

    The numbers are in for the month of March:

    1. 1.387 Million Views (2nd across all MLB FanSided sites)
    2. 101 Articles (broke the 100 mark, one of the only sites to do so)
    3. Seven contributors write 4+ articles this month

    This is awesome to see everyone! As the only Canadian MLB site, JJ is doing a fantastic job of ranking against sites that cover larger market teams and that is great to see as it benefits all of us in the end.

    That being said, April is coming up and Opening Day is right around the corner. Let's keep writing and filling the schedule so we can keep ranking amongst the other sites.

     Sure can Brent! Few ideas off the top of my head:

     

    • predicting the roster after the latest round of MiLB cuts
    • 3/5 breakout candidates for the season
    • Predicting which players on MiLB contracts could break camp (they have two spots open on the 40-man)
    • Those who used Spring Training to their advantage (overall organization wise, not just active roster)
    • Predicting the Opening Weekend starting rotation given the way Sprinng Training is being laid out right now
    • How the AAA rotation in Buffalo appears to be shaping up

    Let me know if any of those seems appealing!

    I will back off the idea for now out of respect to the legal process and his not guilty plea. People have been run out of town for a lot less but regardless there is a process and I will hold off.

    The idea itself is fine, but I would approach it from the viewpoint of candidates to replace similar to how Charles talks on the subject towards the end of his article. Since Charles covered the area pretty well in presenting the facts, approaching from a viewpoint of candidates for replacement may be the best route otherwise it won’t necessarily be new information we are presenting, especially since it is still a work in progress from a legal standpoint.

    Yes I can see that now. I haven’t gotten very far yet but I could make it more like how the recent moves affects the depth of the roster and questions like who is Collins? Can Springer stay healthy for the whole season? Will Pearson’s illness mean he won’t have a spot once healthy? How many infielders will they keep once rosters shrink in May? Things like that, would that be ok?

    Opening Day is tomorrow! Was thinking of going an article to go out tomorrow that would showcase some bold predictions from the JJ staff for the upcoming season.

    Would need anybody who is interested to shoot me their predication and a quick paragraph or two related to the prediction. I know it’s a bit late, so if it doesn’t gain traction I’ll scrap it but it would be cool to get a few in there.
