Hi,

A thought came to my mind today morning and I thought of blogging it.  Had I blogged it, it would have let to controversies.

The thought is very simple....

"Somehow I felt that Indians are not innovative by nature and there are too many social pressures and dependencies that is making us less innovative.   We dare not question our elders in the name of respecting them.   We do not question our parents, we do not question our teachers, we do not question our supervisors.   So, we stop questioning and just become execution engines.   Some one told me this....."When you stop questioning, you stop thinking and when you stop thinking, you stop innovating and when you stop innovating, you become social slaves".

Is this directly-related to too much focus on God and Religion? Are we ritualistic by birth?   Are we spending too much time on unwanted poojas?

Most of the innovations that happened in the last 100 years came from the west and fast east.
I felt, they were probably very practical and gave less importance to God and Religion and more importance to mankind and lateral thinking.   They probably did not tell their children this

"Do not do this, otherwise God will poke your eyes"!!!

Do not take me wrong here.   We need respect our elders and we need to respect our culture and heritage, but do we have to be so blind that we forget and loose our direction?

What do you think ?

Thanks
Krishnan
