Eh. The world is infested with crap computer systems built fast and cheap with no attention to reliability or even security.
We should set a better example. We're advocates for an OS whose reliability and security is just as important as its free availability. Many of us are working in the IT industry.
I have a Nagios server that runs 24/7/365 and if it can page me when a production server in Seattle goes pong it can darned well do as much for the LUG. Just give me a set of important URLs, plus email or SMS addresses for whoever should get notified. And what what hours it should be rude about it.
