I still question why the Wiki needed to be moved away from a local company who was providing hosting, and sponsoring the JaxLUG hosting to third party likely individuals vs businesses. In addition to hosting the Wiki, also hosted DNS (still do for
jaxlug.org), the mailing list, and of course Nagios was monitoring it all... Though at first I did not have Nagios monitoring it, as I was not treating it the same as the rest of my systems. Still time and effort was spent to re-create what existed, and not sure for what purpose or gain.
In general I do not recommend taking things way from sponsoring businesses to be placed in the hands of individuals. After all LUG sponsors have interest in Linux, business interest, and may also hire LUG members... It is nice to get sponsorship from individuals but it does not have the same benefit or clout. Just my $0.02.
