Is Jaxer an executable or a php or some other scripting language script?

The reason I want to know this is because I want to know if I can
install it on a remote shared server such a your typical web page
server that you access via cPanel or FTP and won't let you install any
executable or another instance of Apache.
I'm totally new to Jaxer and looks very promising.

Jaxer runs as an executable and has Apache module to serve a page from
Apache to Jaxer's instances.
