Start marinating on November 3rd.  That's a Saturday.

Share your thoughts about that date.

The games normally runs 6 hours but everyone always wants it to go longer.  People can come and go.  We will think about remote.  If feasible.  We will have a isolated LAN and external WiFi.

Weekdays might work but if we start at 7:00 PM then end after midnight it might be painful the next day.

Nov 3 works for me. It's also the day after the 2600 meeting. :)

Between my wife's baby shower, our anniversary, her birthday*, and another groups event in the early AM, that weekend is ridiculously busy.

Quite unlikely I will be able to be there. :(

*I planned all these dates to be very close to together to limit my possibility of failure. The remainder of the year I gots nuthin to worry about!

This is still tentative, so watch out for updates. It might change in your favor.

I would love to be there but please do not change a schedule based on my time. My weekends are looking very busy in the coming weeks so I don't know when I would be available.

However I would absolutely love to be there.  I look forward to it.

If it runs for 8 hours, I would guess 10 am to 6 pm. That's not confirmed, just my guess.

Do you guys know already what is going to be the format for the CTF? what kind of challenges, etc?

I know it won't be level based. I am pretty sure there will be a server for each team which you have to gain control of initially and then keep all the services running.

I have a bunch of b-day parties and stuff on the 3rd, so I am out for that date, but will look to be involved for the next round!

Nope, actually server-on-server is too much infrastructure for me to
throw in a backpack.

This will be very similar to the Defcon Quals style challenges if
you've ever played those. The categories will be slightly different,
but mostly because I don't like forensics challenges the way they do
them. ;-)
