Membership?

I know that the membership is new and different from being a
photographer, because it has lightboxes so you can save you favourite
photos and email them or the links to other people - and doesn't let
you upload - but why are there only 6 members? - It is still free
isn't it - why aren't people joining it?

Well you have summed up the difference - so all I can say is I have NO
IDEA why there are only six members

We have introduced membership, beacuse we noticed that the carts were
being used by visitors to remember the pictures they lliked... so we
thought if they were interested enough to use the carts to store
pictures, perhaps they would like to have proper light boxes and
actually belong to the site - we have had over 3,000 individual
visitors and well over 16,000 photos viewed, now, so it seemed a good
time to introduce it...

So all I can say is - as it is free - I hope that you have joined!!

Maybe it will catch on, maybe it won't - but it is a good facility to
add as a freebie for the site, so I am not sorry we have done so...
even if I haven't been overwhelmed with the take up...

Still - you know the old saying... if it is free it can't be worth
having.... and all I can say is WRONG, what an utterly stupid old
saying!!
