New version released. Please visit javatari.org.

Version 4.1
============
- New concept: Savestate Cartridges!
- Store emulator state as Savestate Cartridge files to disk any time (press F8)
- Savestate Cartridges can be distributed and loaded as normal ROMs
- Savestate Cartridges can also be embedded as auto-load ROMs
- Support for Starpath/Supercharger Tape ROM format
- Bugfixes and improvements

The new Savestate Cartridges open many possibilities!
To create a Savestate Cartridge, press F8. It works like a "save as" feature for the entire emulator state!
The game ROM is stored automatically into the Savestate Cartridge.

You can save and share specific game situations with other people.
Share interesting achievements, game levels, or highscores.
Promote "extended game sessions" with many people. One player can "continue" the game as the other left.
Demonstrate bug scenarios with ease and precision.

Regards,
Peccin

Ok Zane, I will check this.
I will get back to you as soon as I figure what's happening...

Zane, what happens when you launch the emulator?
Does it launch ok with no game inserted, or does it hang?

What is your website again? Is it http://schroyer.homeserver.com/games/ ?
I had a look at the files on this server, and it is not working even with the old version right? (3.30)

I noticed you used fixed IP addresses for the game files AND the jar files inside the jnlp.
Are you sure this IP is still valid? I got an error trying to reach them...
Maybe you should use names instead of static IPs.

Maybe your problem does not have anything to do with ROM auto-loading in the new version.
It's probably related to address or file location problems.

Please check that and get back to me.

Regards,
Paulo

Can you tell me the address of the new server so I can check the paths, URLs and the file structure?

Regards,
Paulo

Zane,

I have found a bug in the Auto Load of ROMs in the case of a MultiplayerServer being started directly by the applet.
Thanks for the report.
A new version will be required to fix this...

Meanwhile, I suggest you use the normal Standalone mode of the emulator, in which this bug does not exist.
To do so, change the main class from "AppletMultiplayerServer" to "AppletStandalone" in your files.

Users will still be able to start a Multiplayer Server session manually after the game is loaded.
It's probably even better this way, as the majority of users only want to play standalone, and would not require that a Server is started every time.

Stay tuned in this discussion group to receive new version notifications.

Regards,
Paulo

Any chance there could be a volume control slider added to the monitor display panel?  And if so, could it be preset as an applet command argument please (0-100)?  Thanks for this awesome applet and the quality work done on it!

Ok, I will put this in the list of features, maybe for the next release! ;-)

Paulo
