How do I download 5.0 as a JAR file? I've tried running the .js files and it won't work. Can you make a download for javatari 5.0 as a jar?

JAR? Javatari is Javascript, not Java. JARs are for the Java platform!

Please look at the "release\stable\5.0\embedded" directory for an exemple on how to use the javatari,js file and put it on a webpage.

I just want to use it on my computer. Can you please send a file that I can just open and it will work?

I basically just want the file exactly like how it is on your website but to download it on my computer

Did you try to open the website on your computer?
It should work even when you are offline, after you have entered the first time.

If that is enough for you, there is no need to download anything. Its designed to work like that.
Please, can you test that for me? Just try to open javatari.org, even when offline. It should work.

Or, if you prefer, you can just right click -> Save As and save the HTML page on your computer... It is a single file. It will also work this way!

Please let me know if you succeed!

Paulo

When I save it, it's just an image. It does nothing. When I try to save it from github, it's just a zip file with a bunch of folders. When I open it offline, however, it works! I just want the original program saved so that I know I can still use it if the website ever goes down for some reason

Someone made a jar version of the program that works directly on my computer, but it's an older less clean version of javatari. You can see in the video what I'm trying to do, I just want to do it with the new version

Right-click outside the Emulator screen, Save As, and save the HTML file. Then you are saving a page, not an image.
Please try again, if you really can't save the file, I can send it to you later. But I can't do it right now!

The same file (index.html) can be downloaded from the project page at GitHub, from the release folder: /release/stable/5.0/standalone

The JAR is from the old Javatari, the Java version. This one is discontinued...

Please let me know if you succeed.

The same file is also inside the project zip file you downloaded, in the path:  /release/stable/5.0/standalone/index.html.
Just get this file, rename it to javatari, html or something, and you're done.

I keep ending up with code. When I try right clicking to save, it says copy link, not save file..should I copy the code and paste it into a notepad or something?

Also, this is what I end up with the index.html file

I would really like it as a program that I can pin to my taskbar like all my other games if that's possible

Here's the result

I meant like a program, not a web page

John, Javatari IS a webpage. It's not a program, it's not an executable. It will ALWAYS run inside your browser, because It is a webapp!

You have to download the file I have sent you via email, and save it to your computer disk anywhere you want.
Later, you can double-click that file to execute the emulator, but it will open your browser so it can run.

Got it?

Do you know of a ROM pack that has a lot of games but also won't infect my computer?

You can even play the games right there on their site.
