I am a bit new to the applets and I am not sure I understand how to make Javatari work through my website.

I would like to be able to have a rom preloaded in the emulator when someone comes to the page without the ability to change cartridge. Is this possible? Can you give me some example code of how this would work. Be sure and explain it in a manner for a noobie at this as that is what I am. Thank you again this is a great program and I appreciate all the help!

Hello Jason,

Yes, that is totally possible, and easy.
What website are we talking about?
Can you send me a link to where you plan to add the emulator, so I can
teach you the best strategy for your case?
Do you want it to be embedded in the browser window?

Regards,
Paulo

Hey Paulo,

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured it out. I have the emulator running at http://games.RubyFam.com
I love the full screen option and it works great with any controller. I use Xpadder though so I can map controllers to works as the keyboard.

I find it hillarious to play Atari games with a PS3 controller =D.

Thanks again do you have an donation area?

Regards,
Jason

Yes, that's it. You got it working! :-)

I have a few comments though:

- It will look better if you set the background color of the applet to
match your website, so you get rid of that ugly white square around
the emulator.
- Also, the emulator screen becomes taller when you load PAL games, so
it would be better if you give the applet some more pixels in height.
Like with Seaquest, for instance, the console controls are getting
cropped. If you match the background color, the extra space will be
almost unnoticeable.

If you look at javatari.org, you will see an example of how to set the
background color applet parameter.
You must pass the decimal representation of the RGB color you want.
Like 00FFFF would be 65535.
Please tell me if you need any help!

I don't have any proper donation area, but I usually receive some
donations at my Paypal account ppe...@gmail.com.

Also, it would be great if you could somehow credit me on your site. A
mention and a link to javatari.org near the emulator would be
fantastic!

Regards,
Paulo

Thanks for the tip on the background color. I have updated the page with the fixes.

I added a link to your emulator page as well under the game. It will have this link
for every Atari 2600 game I add in the future with your emulator.

I will more than likely in the future add an area where players can download the
roms for free as well (probably the game page itself) and make a note of your
emulator for pc usage.

Thanks again keep up the good work! =D
