Over the ensuing years between 1997 and 2004, the engineer tried many
different methods to help contain the diesel in the engine. After
that, marine diesel engine with the rear side vent attached to a new
front timing cover breather that had a "T" and a draft tube going down
and tucked behind the injection pump and seawater pump. This was
probably their best effort, although the installation or maintenance
of this design was impossible to deal with as one could not
realistically reach the tightly tucked-in hoses or clamps making up
the device.
Marine Diesel engine may supply power for vessels ranging in size
from small boats to medium-size ships requiring as much as 40,000
total horsepower. Gas turbines and fast diesels usually have a
reduction-gear drive making it possible to run them at high speeds
while the propeller turns at low speeds.
Furthermore, in 2003, the company newly developed the DC-32 type
engine as a large engine in the DC series and started to sell the
engine in 2004. It will be shipped as an auxiliary engine for a large
container vessel at the beginning of 2006.
The 8DC-32 marine diesel engine was developed as a large engine in
the DC series, incorporating many experiences accumulated in our
company’s DK engine, is a highly reliable high-rigidity engine, and in
addition, the engine was developed based on the development concept
for the DC series with the addition of new technologies fully
responding to global environment. Also, in order to enable easy
handling for engine and to obtain lower exhaust emission performance,
the DC series considers to adopt control devices, such as electronic
monitoring included in equipment and electronic governor, electronic
fuel injection device, etc. as well.
