y-axis for stacked vertical bar chart

Hello,

How can I add a y-axis to the stacked vertical bar chart? Instead
of having the quantities float above the bars in:

http://thejit.org/static/v20/Jit/Examples/BarChart/example1.html

I would like, for example, there to be a y-axis like in this chart:

http://www.mathsrevision.net/gcse/barchart.gif
