So Oracle is getting all revved up about Java 8 and 9 apparently... (http://www.infoworld.com/d/application-development/oracle-releases-javafx-20-shares-plans-java-9-174896)
what is to be done about the woefully poor Java bug database?
It takes several minutes just to execute a login attempt at bugs.sun.com. I seem to remember (can't check since I can't login) that you could only vote for 3 bugs to be fixed, and there's a backlog of bugs for years... (the latest bug I'm running into is http://bugs.sun.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=4724038)
Is there anything a lowly developer can do to lobby for improvement?

Hi all,
Georges Saab (the extra 's' is deliberate spelling BTW) and his team are definitely working on this. There were lots of great discussions with him and several of us at J1. There is no definitive date yet, Oracle is pretty strict about not stating dates until they have their Ducks in a row, but the intent is very clear, this is a priority.
