the ajug site is pretty sparse on details about the event, like what
time does it start?

Good question. I will paste in the AJUG email we received which has all
the details:

* AJUG: The Atlanta Java Users Group is hosting James Gosling, the
father of Java, on Sept 19th at 6:00 PM down at Atlantic Station Regal
