In all its glory:

What's more, there's even some promising signs of open-sourcification:

Will wonders never cease?

Great. This removes a number of locks that prevented me from working with
JavaFX 2.0.

I thought so, too, but on the download page, there's only a 32-bit version, not 64...

That was my first reaction too - what developer is still using a 32bit Linux ? Or does it work on 64bit Linux too ?

Anyway, the 32bit JDK does not install on 64bit. Sadly.

Annoying. In my case it doesn't hurt too much, since some people that I'd
like to try it use still 32 bit Linux. To be compatible with their setup I
have a virtualized 32 bit environment that should be ok. But, sure, I
think that Oracle should pull a 64bit version asap.

Apparently you can run it on a 32-bit Linux, with a few caveats: http://www.weiqigao.com/blog/2012/01/26/javafx_2_1_sdk_developer_preview_comes_to_linux.html

Although
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/downloads/devpreview-1429449.html reports Linux to be 32-bit, http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/release_notes_linux/jfxpub-release_notes_linux.htm
reports that it works on Ubuntu 10.4 or later 32-bit or 64-bit. Whether
this covers Fedora, Debian, etc. is clearly an issue of doubt.

There is also an implication that you have to use the Oracle JDK, that
OpenJDK is not sufficient to the task.

Does anyone know if they are planning on bundling javafx v2 with JRE6?
I know that it is bundled with JRE7u2, but that is harder to push for
at the moment, upgrading to a newer version of 6 would be a much
easier sell than getting customers to upgrade to v7.
