Does somebody knows when/if JDK8 uses Jigsaw modules ? I'd really like to see they've finally managed a slim, fast booting jvm.

You can get jigsaw builds today at OpenJDK, however it's in a separate forest, won't be merged to mainline for a little while.

Cheers,

The JDK8 snapshots don't contain Jigsaw either then ?

Depends on the forest you are getting them from, visit openjdk.java.net for details

Does anyone know if Jigsaw will support or help support embedded
runtimes so that apps don't depend on a system runtime? Ideally, my
Java apps could run on an iPhone or a Windows device without the
client needing to know or care that the app was written in Java.
