Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, July 8th, for the July JavaMUG meeting
Abstract

As developers, we love automating the tasks we don't want to do. We're not lazy, we just don't enjoy repetitive, boring tasks. We want to spend our time building cool stuff!

What if I told you there was an AI solution that could help you automate those status reports your manager wants every day. It could generate all that documentation for you in your team's standard format. It could give Claude Code the ability to follow Test Driven Development (TDD).

In this session, we'll explore how to author skills that encode your expertise, your standards, and your team's quirks into reusable instruction sets that Claude can draw on across tasks and projects. We'll cover the anatomy of a well-written skill, how to trigger and compose them effectively, and the design decisions that go into teaching a model how to do the things you don't want to do.
